The best of both worlds! When you combine the low rolling desert foothills with the higher mountain vistas of this 35 – 40 square mile ranch, you have the perfect combination to hunt trophy-class coues deer. Whether you are hiking the remote mountains to glass the open ridgelines or sitting water for thirsty bucks in the low desert country, this ranch offers hunters the opportunity to utilize several different hunting methods to suit their individual hunting style. About an hour from Hermosillo, this DIY coues deer hunting ranch is easy to get to and boasts an extremely nice ranch house that can easily accommodate up to eight hunters at one time.
Most of the roads in the lower country are easily drivable to access the many finger ridges and the more gentle country that rutting bucks travel to find hot does. A favorite approach for hunters in this part of the ranch is the “run and gun” method of slowly moving along the tops of these finger ridges, glassing both sides into the bottoms for mature bucks that are locked down on does or catching bucks bird dogging does across the opposite hill sides.
The road from the ranch house to the mountain part of the ranch is a bit rougher, but the payoff is big country to glass all day. For those who want to stretch their legs, you will find glassing points to look across miles of coues deer habitat and remote country where mature bucks call home. This is a true DIY hunt where MADD Hunts will provide a hunt group with all the necessary gun permits and paperwork to legally cross the border from Nogales, Arizona to and from Sonora, Mexico.
All transportation and hunting equipment is to be provided by the hunters. Food is also the responsibility of the hunter, but for an additional fee, MADD Hunts can make arrangements for the food and cook to be provided for the duration of the hunt.
